About Reflexology

What is Reflexology and how can it help you?

Reflexology treats your whole body and mind, and produces harmony and homeostasis. Your own healing mechanisms are stimulated and so you have the vitality to fight off disease and to cope with the physical and emotional stresses of work, pollution and modern day living. Reflexology is beneficial to all, whether you have a serious illness, you are finding it difficult to conceive, or if you just feel you would like to have more energy to enjoy your busy life. Reflexology works well on its own or alongside standard healthcare.

Reflexology has benefitted humans for thousands of years. The art of Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China and has been adopted in the West in the last century when it was noted that reflex areas on the feet and hands are linked to other areas and organs of the body.

Reflexology is based on the theory that the human body has its own internal energy lines or ‘meridians’ along which the body’s energy flows. An imbalance of this energy causes ill health. This energy can be accessed through the 70,000 nerve endings in your feet. During the treatment I will administer a specially designed massage to the reflexology points on your feet. Each reflex point relates to a different area of the body and the effect is to bring the whole body into harmony and balance. Areas of your body which are under or over active can be detected and treated. Reflexology will encourage your body to relax while accessing its innate abilities of healing and restoration.
